Key ecosocialist wins LSE election

Aled Fisher has won the post of General Secretary of the London School of Economics, result here.

Aled is one of the world's key ecosocialist, I met him so to speak when I was checking my emails in January 2006 in Cesar's flat in Caracas during my brief visit with Sarah. Aled invited me to a debate between the LSE Greens and the Hayek Society on capitalism and the environment. The rest is history.

Aled acted as my researcher and with his help I was elected and re-elected Green Party Principal Speaker, he helped host a May 2007 meeting for Joel Kovel at the LSE, put together the wiki entry on ecosocialism, has campaigned strongly for the liberation of Palestine and built powerful links between the green movement and muslims.

His strong intellect, energetic campaigning and hard work mean that he will I am sure be at the forefront of the struggle for ecosocialism and Green politics in years to come.

His election is very good news for the ecosocialist movement, the Green Party and the left in general.

So nice to celebrate a friend, a socialist and dynamo of energy winning an election.
